Laser Gunns;275818Troy Nicklas (picked ahead of ours) would have given us 5x the value we get from this turd.

Damn it Ted.
Why didn't you take the guy that was already picked.

uffda udfa;275831I doubt a Ted Thompson decision on WR because half the guys who used to be there who scouted for him are gone.
This isn't the same group that picked the WR's of the past.

He dominated when they played teams like Hawaii and the Idaho Vandals...UNLV Running Rebels, etc...
Not so good when he played real college competition.
This smells of Alex Green.
All this crazy production in a crazy college offense but was against guys who are near D2 quality.
Just don't understand this one.
I really don't.
You like the Packers speed on O?
We lack a true burner.
It seems we almost always do.
Guys with speed were out there and we grab a guy who is snailish.
Not sure why.
So, you lose James Jones and waste a 2nd rounder to get back what you lost minus the experience and proven production.
That makes little sense.
This is where teams who use FA and other methods have an advantage over us.
SF, who needed a WR, made a trade to get a proven stud in Stevie Johnson.
Now, they don't have to take a Davante Adams, they can take the top RB prospect in the draft.
The draft shouldn't be used to replace what you just had but didn't want... it should be used to improve your team, not keep it the same.

Don't knock Green.
He had what, 5.8 per when his knee was healthy?

We've just got crazy ass depth there now.

I just love this pick. The second coming of Sterling Sharpe, but better...

This guy, Davante Adams, is going to be one of our best WRs ever in GB. I think he will have that kind of career.

Fun Fact ...

Davante Adams agent is Frank Bauer, same as James Jones, who Adams worked out with.

I read that, just shows what a class act James Jones is.

Don't know how the rest of JJ's career will go, but when it is over, I hope he comes back and retires as a Green Bay Packer.

Does this take into account how many top CB's you actually faced?
IE: What if Watkins only faced 1 or 2 and Adams faced 6?

However, this may tend to blow up my argument that Adams did his damage vs. inferior competition.

Yeah it's just the # of receptions he had while facing a top guy I think.
Meaning he could have racked up a bunch of receptions against just a couple top guys.
Though that sounds like a good thing to me.
When he faced good CBs he was able to beat them.
Considering he probably didn't face that many top guys I would say it's a good guess he was never really shut down by anyone.
He did also probably beat a bunch of not great CBs for a bunch of stats but that's what most top guys do anyways.
This really just shows that he CAN beat good competition not necessarily how often he had to do it.

It also kind of illustrates how it's dangerous to judge the talent of a player by the overall quality of a team.
A lot of the defenses he played against were really bad but that doesn't necessarily mean the guy lining up across from him was.
