Mucky Tundra;276549Man we sure are hyping the hell out of this guy.
Well Muck, he was rated #33 overall in the NFL draft in October. We signed him as a UDFA. Maybe, maybe, there is something to it in a positive manner for the Packers.
Two things worked against him:
1. Saban employed him at 6 different positions after a stellar sophomore season at OLB.
2. Medical questions regarding a possible enlarged heart.
The latter has been cleared by a very conservative medical staff under McKenzie.
The former took away from his production.
Seems like we indeed got a steal in signing him, but I'm willing to wait and see.

Right... TWO things worked against him but the ostrich doesn't want to come out of the sand on it. :)
He's substituting one invalid reason and ignoring a valid one.
His heart was NOT the reason he fell...that is Hubbard's rationale for having a hard time coming to terms that nobody wanted to him due to the perception he's arrogant and uncoachable.

Nah, media only has access on first day (Friday)... if I've deciphered tweets correctly.
So, shouldn't be too much coming out of the weekend.

You don't know that's the reason he wasn't drafted any more than someone else knows his heart was the reason.
The most likely thing is he's just not a great football player.
Really nothing I've seen has convinced me he's so uncoachable that if he was a great player he wouldn't get drafted.
You are way overstating his attitude problems IMO based on some pretty minor reports.

I mean if he is uncoachable he will be released after the weekend because the coaches won't be able to coach him due to the uncoachableness

I believe when all is said and done that Adrian Hubbard will prove to be a huge steal. Had he kept working just the OLB position during his junior year at Alabama, he may have shared very similar overall numbers (Hubbard in just 3 years) with Kareem Martin (in his 4 years), who was selected just ahead of us in R3 at 84. Both in the 6-6 255-260 range. Sizeable players on the outside, and Hubbard's will to learn from two of his idols, Matthews and Peppers, ought to be fun to watch.
Figure, Hubbard was moved around a lot his last (junior) season at Alabama, and was also surrounded by a wealth of talent and playmakers. Martin was a phenomenal value pick for the Cardinals in R3, and the fact that the Packers were able to land Hubbard in UDFA is pretty big. Very similar talent, especially when you look at Hubbard's sophomore season in comparison with Martin's senior season, they are very similar. Martin played all 4 years, so his overall stats are a bit skewed, but most of his numbers came his senior year and were a bit padded playing Old Dominion, Boston College, Middle Tennessee State, Pittsburgh, Duke and East Carolina. Something to make note of.
I'm liking the value behind many of our UDFA signings. Hubbard being just one of them. I really, really wanted us to draft Martin to learn from his NC mentor in Peppers, but in hindsight, I may like this even more. Hubbard may bring more upside, with nearly the same physical tools. This could be very, very good. I'm excited to see Adrian Hubbard play.
I'll take our Hubbard - Julius Peppers (38 sacks over the last 4 years) combo over the Martin - Calais Campbell (29 sacks over the last 4 years) any day.
