steveishere;283569I'm just done with AJ Hawk.
You cannot coach that out of someone that's simply his instincts at work.
At the very least you have to give a young gun like Barrington more than 0 snaps next week.
I doubt Dom will bench a precious veteran but there's no excuse not to give someone else an opportunity after the display from both our ILBs.
I'll say this about Brad Jones though I've never seen him make a spineless play like that.
He may miss a tackle but he'll at least stick his nose in there every chance he gets.
I remember that play.
It sickened me too at the time.
My take was that he feared Harvin's agility and didn't want to overpursue or get juked.
Let's face it, Hawk is not that quick or agile.
I agree about Barrington and Lattimore.
Richardson too.

If that's what Hawk was thinking and why he decided to just give Seattle 3 more downs he has no place on the field.
If you are out on that field and in the position he was in you have to be THE GUY instead of hanging back until someone else makes the tackle then jump on the pile.

Here's the whole video, not just a picture.
JMO, no way was Hawk going to get to Harvin before he made the 1st down.
He adjusted his angle so Harvin could not cut inside.
He might have had a better chance of going straight at Harvin if Peppers would have keyed on Harvin instead of standing up, taking 1 step and gets blocked by the OT.
Of course I don't know what defense was called, or what the responsibilities of each player was on the play.
I guess all that information will be gone over when the coaches and players meet.
But yea, it's time to set Hawk and especially Jones down and let the young guys show what they have.

Where are you getting that from?
Even after he slows up and loses all his momentum he was still on the Seahawks side of the 1st down before he started going backwards.
He could have easily reached Harvin for a loss if he never slows up.
Even if he misses the tackle at that point it gives someone else more time to get there and make the stop.
Hell he still had a shot to stop him even after he quit running but then for some reason he ran backwards behind Micah Hyde.

He adjusted his angle, Harvin is a pretty fast guy.
I'm agreeing with you, It's time to sit Hawk and especially Jones and see what the young guys can do.
According to some on here, from what I have read, the seasons over anyway so there is no harm in making a few changes.

I'm not even saying I'd expect Capers to completely bench them.
I just at least want to see them surrender a series or two to see if Barrington or Lattimore could make an impact.
I guess he's scared the young guns might force the issue and make him look bad.
If both ILBs are playing like complete crap there is literally no reason for their back ups to play 0 snaps.

But are they assignment sure steve?
Fear of young guys making him look bad? That's impossible, that's Colin Kaepernicks job.
You know we could probably get away with one of them starting if we had a physical hitter in the lineup to let them focus on what they're supposed to be good at.

lol I keep thinking that if Dom was coaching our offense then Garth Gerhart would have started at C on Sunday.
Same thing with Newhouse over Bakhtiari last season.
