"Kingdom22"They gave up 27 points to the secondary offense of the ARIZONA, while our offense was just lost.
Thanks to BROHM.
We definitely need a Veteran QB.
Here is why, we don't know which wide receiver is good unless we got a decent QB.
Brohm needs to go, sorry but I am upset at the blown lead.

Hey Kingdom, I think you're being a bit harsh on Brohm. His first couple drives were mainly run plays and he just had 3rd and long to deal with.
On at least one play he got sacked, which may have had something to do with his backup OLine.

On his (I think) 3rd drive, he made three nice completions of 10 or more yards to three different receivers and looked much better before getting drilled for another sack.

As for the need for a vet QB, Brohm is not our backup so he isnt the problem. Flynn is our #2 and looked pretty handy before getting injured.
He would step in, not Brohm.
Also, how many vet QBs would sign up to be the #3 QB?
Not many worth bothering with I wouldnt have thought.

Obviously it depends if Flynn is healthy. If he is then Brohm can sit some more and learn his trade. But at least he showed some flashes of one day being a competent player (and that is all 3rd string QBs really have to do - they are rarely required to actually play in regular season games).

As for the 'blown lead' (we never actually gave up the lead) I think you have to chalk it up to the second string D. Zona made long play after long play during that second half and we really didnt stop them.

Well Blown lead meaning that they let the Cards come that
close to us.
If they had converted that 2 pointer then you would be upset as well.

Fair point. I still put it down to the D.

From the Journal Sentinel Online: Brohm posted the best passer rating of his seven-game exhibition career. He completed four of five passes for 45 yards and a rating of 104.2.

MM never gave Brohm a chance.
5 passes the entire 2nd half.
The coaches were using the time to scout our RBs to determine who is going to stay and who is going to go.

We know who the WRs are going to be, we know who the starting 5 Oline and 2 TEs are.
The only real question for the offense is RB.

Well our back ups only gave up 7 points in the 3rd quarter.
A lot of the 4th quarter was a #10 overall drafted QB with starting experience vs 3rd stringers... what did you really expect?

Yeah Brohm and other 2nd and 3rd stingers went up against the Cards starters and didn't do horrible. That's pretty good....

Then went the starters left they started doing better. Also the Packers 2nd, 3rd and 4th string defense were going against some 1st round picks by the cards.

Also why do you need a vet for a 3rd stringer? I rather have somebody young with potential as the 3rd stringer... than a vet.

Brohm actually played as well as he ever has for the Packers, though that's not exactly a ringing endorsement. He didn't get given a lot of responsibility - the Packers largely focused on the run - but he did get something going on his third drive.

I don't know enough about Arizona's depth to comment on whether or not their backups are further ahead (or even if they played their starters/first reserves for longer than the Packers did). But Leinart is much further ahead than Brohm at this stage, and he had an excellent half.

1 to 5, that Arizona receiving corps is just at potent as ours if not arguably slighty more so. Leinart is also a decent QB, so I'm not overly shocked they did a good job torching our reserves for over 300 yards passing in the second half.

Hopefully we'll be able to get Pat Lee and Will Blackmon back this week for Tennessee, although the Titans receiving corps are nowhere nears as good as Arizona's is.
