I'm worried about Crosby. Way too inconsistant.

It doesn't help that Ruvell Martin is the holder either.

I think that has alot to do with it. Martin's not his normal holder.
But in the "real" games, you can't miss those points.
They better shore that up.
The first team units look sharp, but the seconds and thirds look pretty bad.

Well he was 26th in fg percentage last year as well. Bad trend.

I find it a little perturbing that our first-unit defense seems more focused on snagging turnovers than stuffing plays at the line of scrimmage.
Glitz may be fun to watch for a while, but it leaves you very vulnerable to the big play. I hope this gets resolved soon and they get
back to playing fundamental football.

I found this picture to respresent this game very well.

Anyway, here we go.

Ruvell Martin isn't the holder for the regular season, anyway, so we should be good there. If Flynn goes down again, I'm sure that Martin will get some more time to practice and get it down better. It mattered little in this pre-season game.

The defense is finally showing off its talent, though. They're flying over the field, causing all kinds of havoc. They did apear to give up a lot down the middle. Fitzgerald was exploiting those seams the entire game. Still, they have the personel and the talent to pull this off. Just look at Dom Capers' record as well. He has done wonders for defenses in their first year. I'm don't know if there'll be that 2 year adjustment period.

The offense just dominated the Cardinals defense, obviously. Loved that we set up the running game with the passing game and not the other way around. Get those linebackers and safeties to move back, then run the ball and then go with the play-action. Which Arizona bit on way too hard on that Jordy Nelson TD. Loved the pin point accuracy by Rodgers, the much improved O-line and the undrafted rookie Sutton. He might be one of the best hidden gems from this draft, if he keeps this up.

Overall a great game. Only negative I can think of is that the reserves, once again, gave up a huge amount of points and where unable to score. I just hope that we won't get any major injuries, or we'll have quiet a bad drop-off in our quality of play. Especially the secondary looked very weak against Matt Leinart.

Well it also doesn't help that Rouse, Peprah, Lee, and Blackmon are all out right now.

Im hoping this whole holder thing isn't just being used as an excuse, but I hope it was really the cause of the problems kicking.
For some reason, after having all the confidence in the world in Mason, I am starting to doubt it.
Hopefully, he'll be fine.

The passes across the middle are what worries me.
Too much last night I saw corners drop into their zone alone the sideline and let their receiver go alone across the middle, when there was no one else anywhere near that sideline.
I realize that's how it is designed but damn, dropping into your zone doing nothing, while letting larry fitz streak across the middle with only linebackers around (or not around as we saw last night) just doesn't sit well with me.
Hopefully, the problems protecting the middle are just a result of it being preseason and it will be fixed by the time the regular season comes around.

Our entire offense was firing on all cylinders last night.
The play calling was excellent, some of the plays were just perfect.
It's nice to see, definitely haven't gotten use to that over the years.
On many occasions last night our offensive line just competely dominated their defensive line.
The touchdown run by kuhn was unchallened, the offensive line knocked every single defender 5 yards back with ease.
Stunning how powerful we looked at times.
IT was nice to see the long ball is already very effective as well.
I had some mild concern about the pass protection last night, however.
Even with the praising Rodgers did for his Oline last night after the game, there were times where it seemed he was forced to scramble a bit too much.
Shouldn't be much to worry about, though.

I didn't stick around to watch the second half, but after looking up stats at halftime then again when I came home last night, it didn't even seem to me that we got too many offensive snaps in the second half.
Must have been lots and lots of 3 and outs.
I would have liked to get a much better look at Brohm, 5 passes is nothing to bother evaluating.
Anyways, after watching the starters dominate, I am very excited for the regular season to get underway.
Hopefully, we can stay under the radar and surprise a lot of people.
