"Nonstopdrivel"Shawn, how can you have so many songs stuck in your head at the same time?
How do you get any thinking done? :P
He's a multi-tasker. :)

I promise this will be my last for awhile...well, tonight anyway...
The greatest bassist I ever heard live was Jaco Pastorius.
These are from a concert in the same tour, a couple weeks before I saw him in London.
Remark is IMO one of Weather Report's greatest songs, but it's Portrait of Tracy that really shows off Jaco (even if this video seems to cut off before the solo is done.
Somewhere there's a Montreux recording of Tracy that goes even farther out there, but that one's an acquired taste.
Enjoy, or not...

Pretty boring music, way too many "cool" people and "cool" lyrics, autotune up the behind... Yet, I can't get that fricken' chorus out of my head.

Oh wow I envy you, Wade.
Before I even knew who he was, he was dead.
He was a head case for sure but man, can he play.

Time to add a few bits of guitar...
First a bit of acoustic from Chet Atkins, in duet on one of my favorite songs ever...

And then two versions of one song by someone who should be in everyone's electric top 5, Mark Knopfler....
For those of you who may have only heard the radio/LP version of "Sultans of Swing," these will show *that* riff to be just a hint of the real thing.
The first one probably has the best overall concert dynamic and certainly the best video quality.
The second, IMO, is even better at showing Knopfler taking his guitar from the merely great into the zone of zones.
I don't recommend either of these for listening at work, though ....I don't know how you'd hide it from the boss that you weren't working during the long guitar bits (starting about 4:40 on each one and running about 6 mins).
