Yeah, I'm not happy about it. I wanted to upgrade to a MS package, then after I processed it they then were kind of enough to tell me we'd lose our database. I said no cancel the upgrade then.

They said that was impossible in which I said what host company doesn't have backups? There must be a backup, use it.
They said they're gonna get the latest backup of the site and use that and restore the Linux server.

If it goes as I was told, there shouldn't be any issues. Now I just received and email saying its going to be down for 30 days.

I'm completely freaking confused on all of this. The support people have really strong accents and its hard to understand them.
I have a backup of the entire website on my laptop and I'm constantly taking backups of the database. So if the worst happens, it'll be down for a day at the most.

And draft week to boot.. that blows... then sucks, then blows again.

Wonder if we can pull a Florio and host the site temporarily on another host.

lol we should be okay. If I have to buy another host to get us going, so be it. I'll know more on what's going on tomorrow and Thursday.

To be honest you should just get a new webhost, there's plenty of them out there that have reliable (and American) tech support. Plus, to transfer the site all you should have to do would be to download the database through phpmyadmin, copy the files over to the new host and then recreate the database through phpmyadmin with the file you downloaded. I've done this a few times.
