For as explosive as the Packer's offense is, it's quite pedestrian when Jennings isn't in there...imo. But first preseason game, so who knows.
The left tackle situation truly frightens me if Newhouse goes down for too long...Herb was getting owned regularly.
The defense looked exactly like last year's defense...NO pressure!
So yeah...weak tea indeed.

Once again, rhetorically and always, it was the first preseason game and very few conclusions can be drawn from it.
Newhouse should be back soon, and then our starting line is essentially the same as it was during the 15-1 season.
It could be better, but still not bad, especially if Newhouse improves.
Hopefully Sherrod can finish healing and work back to being a solid #2 and maybe more late in the season.
Worst case scenario, move Lang to LT and have EDS fill in at guard, which he has done a decent job of at times in the past.
Considering those three options only, things could be much worse, and have been in recent seasons.
The Wells signing is a decent one, too, imo.
He should be at least as good as Taylor or EDS, if not better.
As I said, Nick Perry showed some ability tonight, which only means good things for the pass rush.
This game was what it was: The first preseason game with a team that is banged up.
Nothing to get too worried about.

dfosterf;214289Graham Harrell was aggravating, to me.
I'm at once very spoiled by Rodgers, coupled with the fact that I felt comfy with the unheralded Flynn, and saw what I saw for most of 28 years of QB suckage during our "drought".
That kind of QB performance shit makes me very paranoid.
I'd be looking for his replacement hard, RFN, if I were in charge.
The boy doesn't appear to have it.
When did you turn into a spoiled, whiney bitch?
We are spoiled mofos for quarterbacking - and every fan of every other team will tell you that.

Can any of us imagine what the cost of retaining Aaron Rodgers for the rest of his career is going to look like if this shit keeps up?
Were I him, I'd have a major woodie going to bed this eve.
Harrel just cost us even more millions, this day, when that day comes.
MM needs to get off the whole project play toy QB thing.
I say we get a proven commodity to play back-up- some semi-rejected just barely lost his yob type
Tavaris Jackson?
Works for me
...didn't like the female ref, either.
BITCH.
Don't care about what sex she happens to be, but she looked way too into her yob, plus I think she hosed us at least once.

You're such a relic.
Women belong on the football field, just like they belong in the men's locker room.

I mean if she's going to be out there, the least she could do is wear some tight pants, padded bra, and tease her hair up a little.
Not only do we need a veteran backup, but we could use a veteran safety not named Woodson.

dfosterf;214286That was some very weak tea.
Coming off that Giants game at the end of last year...
We appear to have lost our mo-jo.
I'd have rolled different, were I in charge.
Good lord. This was a pre-season game, man, not some game that was our last shot at getting in the playoffs.
I'm all for whining when something actually is legitimately a concern (see last year's D), but the fact that we had our 3rd/4th stringers get beat by the Chargers' 2nd/3rd stringers means nothing. I'm pretty sure if we panicked anytime our back-up QB had sub-par performances in their pre-season debuts and decided to move on ASAP, Rodgers and Flynn would not have been anywhere near our team. Relax, (much older) bro. McCarthy even admitted earlier this week that historically he hasn't really done much game planning on an opponent leading up to the first preseason game.
Biggest thing coming from this game: we should pray like no tomorrow that Bishop's injury is not serious. That as well as Newhouse / Sherrod are healthier going into the regular season than they have ever been in their whole lives, and they stay that way.

JJ dropped a sure-thing TD in the end zone, which would have been the tying score.
So I guess he's in midseason form.

If you compare Harrell stats to some of the other backup QBs that played on Thursday, he looks pretty good.
Ryan Mallets stats of the Patriots is a good example, and he is supposed to be extremely talented.
I thought Harrell looked fine, especially later in the game behind that offensive line.
At least one offensive linemen was getting beaten instantly almost every play (especially Datko).
I don't even remember Flynn looking that good last preseason.
Reading too much into last nights game is laughable.
It's basically a practice.
If the first string offense is still looking that bad come the third preseason game, than we can maybe get a little worried, but even then, it's pushing it.
It's preseason.
It's all about player evaluation in different situations, not necessarily winning the game.
The only major news of note is the Bishop and House injuries.
I would love to hear some explanation of why what appears to be the Packers 2nd best cover corner was a gunner on the punt coverage team very late in the first preseason game.
That's something that pisses me off more than anything.
We better get used to seeing Bush out there covering receivers often now, at least for awhile.
