Perhaps my expectations were tempered, but I thought Harrell played well. He progressed as the game went on. Also, he throws the ball well between the hashes. However, the back shoulder throws need work and I worry about his arm strength. I'm not sure he has the ability to throw the ball outside the hashes in a tight window.
The second-string o-line played bad, but they do every preseason. The Packers didn't invest in finding depth along the o-line this off-season, so this is hardly a surprise. The priority is to get healthy at tackle with Marshall Newhouse and Derek Sherrod. That's a game-changer, in my opinion.
I like Nick Perry's aggressiveness, but I'd like to see more discipline against the run. I'm sure he was excited for his first game, though.
Dan Muir played very well. ESPN highlighted him a couple of times, but he gets a nice push and defends the run well.
The secondary was a mix bag. Casey Heyward didn't have a good night. He did make one nice play, but he held and allowed a couple completions. I didn't see any improvement from Jarrett Bush. He struggled. However, I was impressed with Davone House. I suspect he's the frontrunner for the No. 2 CB job. The only reason Bush is ahead of him on the depth chart is seniority. I hope his injury isn't serious.
I thought Anthony Levine outplayed M.D. Jennings. One of those safeties needs to step up. Woodson will play slot corner in the sub packages, so they'll substitute a safety into the game rather than a cornerback.
Overall, it's just preseason, but this was sloppy effort. It was poor execution all around. I'm not at all worried about the offense. They'll handle their business. Defensively, however, we need a couple of young players in the secondary to make an impact. House is the only one that looks ready right now.

buckeyepackfan;214318Take off your "I hate AJ Hawk" glasses and go back and actually watch the first 2 series of the game and you will realize just how "Football ignorant" your statement is.
I have 5 years of Hawk memories, thanks BI.

I get a kick on the notion Hawk played poorly last season.. IMO he is about as consistent as it comes.. read and react player that isn't overly aggressive.. but solid.
I hold no different opinion of Hawk than I did in 08..09.. 10... 11.. today. He is what he is.

steveishere;214308The only thing Tarvaris Jackson has ever proven is that he completely sucks.
What would be the point?
That guy has spent his whole career trying to learn 1 playbook and he still plays like he has no clue what he is doing.
You expect him to be able to learn the Packers playbook in a matter of weeks?
But he'd get time with a QB Coach who actually gives a crap about him.
Nobody's asking him to start.
Just be ready when called upon.
I wouldn't mind having Colt McCoy or Vince Young back A-Rod up either.

Good that he's feeling better but damn.
The whole state is holding it's breath.
The doctor couldn't delay his golf outing to read the images?
Packers CB Davon House's injured left shoulder was doing considerably better on Friday afternoon, according to a source close to him, but he won't know the full extent of his injury until the MRI on him is read on Saturday.
House took the test Friday afternoon, the source said, and was scheduled to find out the results today, but his appointment was delayed until Saturday.

What are we holding our breath for again? Rather, what are we supposed to be holding our breath for?

Just hoping to God it was not something like what happened to Tramon Williams. They were suspecting it got strained by being popped out of place.

???;214307When bashing Graham Harrell's performance, keep in mind how Aaron Rodgers played in his preseason games earlier in his career.
I agree!

Watching the game a little more, I came away not as disappointed as before. Sure the Chargers backups out played us and we lost 2 REALLY important players. But there were some things in there that really made me excited for the near future. I'd rather get hot at the right time any way.
I saw another play I missed before where the running back bumped outside and Perry was right there to make a great tackle. I hope MD Jennings improves.
