When bashing Graham Harrell's performance, keep in mind how Aaron Rodgers played in his preseason games earlier in his career.

Mike McCarthy needs to get off the whole project play toy QB thing.
I say we get a proven commodity to play back-up- some semi-rejected just barely lost his yob type

Tavaris Jackson?
Works for me
.

The only thing Tarvaris Jackson has ever proven is that he completely sucks.
What would be the point?
That guy has spent his whole career trying to learn 1 playbook and he still plays like he has no clue what he is doing.
You expect him to be able to learn the Packers playbook in a matter of weeks?

Albeit it means little.. but Flynn last preseason didn't exactly light up the stat sheet nor the highlight film.

IMO... Harrell needs to settle down a bit.. when he got into a mode of hurry up he looked a heck of a lot more comfortable than a traditional offense. My view.. that bodes well.

First pass of the second half would have changed the game.. he dropped it right where he had to.. just a beat out of time with the receiver.

He also didn't get helped by a couple of drops.

Not saying he looked sharp, but I am not ready to pull the rip cord yet.

Coleman has a arm.. if we can catch a little luck with him.. he might become that next in line QB that offers solid comfort as a backup. If we really catch lighting in a bottle.. and he develops rapidly.. preseason 2014 he might be a trade chip for us.

Tall.. excitable.. looks the part. Just we will see if they can rope in his aggressive nature a bit. Turn back the clock into the early 90's though.. albeit the prospect back then was a bit thicker. ;)

Exactly.
Flynn looked pretty bad, actually.
It's amazing how much difference playing with the starting offense and a game plan make.
I was disappointed with Flynn's entire preseason last year, as I really expected him to light it up after several seasons of being the number two.
He didn't, but the point being, once again, that little can be interpreted by us fans from the outside.
The coaching staff knows what they are doing.

I was more disappointed in the on-going terribleness of our offensive line depth.

Actually.. the most disappointing aspect of the night for me was the tackling.

I expected a solid effort.. I expected that with the emphasis placed on tackling that it would be more crisp than it was.

If I am Capers or MM... I let the animal that is Kevin Greene out of the cage and start chewing some bungholes out. I know.. I know.. preseason game.. but DAMN. Additionally, other than maybe the likes of Levine and Muir.. where the hell was the fire.. the piss and vinegar from the defensive group.

The Chargers had that swagger.. that electricity on defense.. we didn't. That was disappointing.

The offensive line.. past the starting 4.. they are being toss together like a salad.. I really am not to upset that they struggled.

I have grown to expect slow progression along the offensive line.. James Campen still heads that unit up.. I expect no less than confusion and slow development with his group. I still don't understand it.. why he still is there.. but I have no choice but to except it.

Am I the only one that though our defensive line 1st team played pretty well. Especially with Perry and Worthy learning new positions. San Diego's front has been working together for a while.

I honestly attributed that to the Bishop injury.
After he was hurt, it just seemed like the air left the defense.
No team wants to see one of their defensive leaders season potentially ending in the first preseason game.
I think that really sucked a lot of mojo out of the group for most the game.
Sure, it's still an excuse, but a valid one, imo.
I think many of the players knew the injury was pretty serious.
The lack of "energy" didn't bother me.
I'm sure it will pick up as time moves on.

DakotaT;214288DJ Smith will handle the position just fine.
AJ Hawk will get to keep his job yet another year.
First Barnett, and now Bishop.
Good luck with your rehab Desmond.

The Packers signed OG/OT hybrid named Wells today for depth.
But agree on Taylor and Datko, neither is ready for real action.

Take off your "I hate AJ Hawk" glasses and go back and actually watch the first 2 series of the game and you will realize just how "Football ignorant" your statement is.

Pre-season games, especially the 1st pre-season game is basically played to get players on film.
Lot's of mistakes were made last night, but now the coaches can show the players just what they did wrong and start correcting the errors.

Nobody cares(or shouldn't anyway), what the final score is, it's all about learning from your mistakes.

There is no game planning going on here, it's basically putting your 11 up against their 11 and take the outcome and work on the areas that need work.

Perry looked good, Muir looked good late, didn't know this guy was even on the roster.
Not a rookie, but could be that 1 vet that knows this is probably his last shot and will be able to add a little depth and experience to the D-line.
House made a couple of nice plays.
Hayward made a couple of nice plays, he also got schooled by the best TE in the business, but again. the mistakes that were made can be fixed.
